I am so grateful to Dog Rescue R Us, who allowed my daughter and myself to adopt a beautiful puppy. My daughter has suffered from depression and anxiety since the pandemic started. We were told by her doctors that she’ll probably benefit from an Emotional Support Animal (dog specifically) since it would give her a reason to get up out of bed and most importantly outside.
We tried multiple shelters, filled out countless applications and even started searching breeders. Since, dogs are currently in high demand most were running between $3000- $9000, even mixed breeds. I opened a Facebook account and joined countless groups looking for a pup. I ran into a post from Joleen (a foster mom for Dog Rescue R Us) showing two pups she was fostering and in need of a home. I sent an instant message and was shocked to have heard back from her right away. I was hesitant at first to fill out another application. I was afraid of getting approved like I had with other agencies and it leading no where.
Joleen seemed really approachable and answered all my questions. I decided it was worth giving it a chance so I applied for one of the two pups she was fostering (Happy or Sleepy). I heard back from her the very next day, we chatted and we were approved. I then had to submit a walkthrough video of my home as a final step since they could not do a home visit. This agency was nothing less than heaven sent. I got the call to schedule pickup later that day. I was ecstatic and my daughter was literally in tears. I have my beautiful grand fur baby Molly (fka Happy) whom I absolutely adore.
She lives up to her former name “Happy” because she has brought nothing less than happiness into our home. My daughter has her fur baby and I have my happy daughter back. We’ve had Molly for a week now and I’ve already recommended this agency to my sister and friends. I was so stressed out and this agency within a week was able to do something I have been struggling to accomplish for months.
Molly is now officially my daughter’s Emotional Support Dog and their bond is already strong. Molly follows Melanie everywhere around the house. My daughter and Molly enjoy our daily walks and car rides. Molly has done TikTok videos with my daughter and they’re really cute ( https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJhakNnB/ ) As I stated before I am forever grateful to this agency who truly cares for dogs and their well being.
